The King 601 is like the 600 except, except for the additional 1rst slide ring. The king brand is part of the UMI/ Steinway family now. But these horns produce a warm mellow sound. They blow open and free... very responsive. The valves have always been one of their strong points. The skin thickness is a little lighter than the others major brands... which gives it a tad more brilliance, which I love. The finishes have always held up well..... they're are simply beautiful.
